PLEASE NOTE:
The Maine Turnpike recently completed its 2004 Maine
Interstate Redesignation. This project affects driving
directions to Sunday River as follows:
1) Previously, the Maine Turnpike was
designated as I-95 from the NH boarder to South Portland, then
continued north as I-495. Under the new system, the Turnpike is
designated as I-95 for its entire length. The I-495 designation
on older maps is now outdated.
2) The numbering system for exits has changed
to label exits by mileage rather than numerical order. The exit
for Sunday River / Route 26 in Gray, Maine has changed from Exit 11
to Exit 63. The redesignated #63 is
based on the mileage from the start of the Turnpike.

Take right off exit ramp, Left
at First Traffic Light, another immediate Left at the next
Traffic Light, |

Following signs for Route 26
North towards Bethel, ME. |

Keep following the signs for Route
26 North for about 55 minutes towards Bethel. |

Landmarks:

On right, Maine Line Products. Chandler Hill Road is exactly 2
½ miles past Maine Line Products on your right. |

Moose Crossing Sign – Chandler Hill Road is
exactly ½ mile past MC sign on your right. |
|
Take right on Chandler Hill
Road. |

The Moose Lodge is seven tenths of a
mile (7/10) up on the Right with a Yellow Moose Lodge
Flag
at the end of the driveway. |

You've Gone Too Far on Route 26 If...
|
On Route 26, if you pass Telstar
High School or reach the center of Bethel you’ve gone
too far. Turn around and watch for a Moose Crossing Sign on
your right at the bottom of a hill, Chandler Hill Road
is directly across the street (now on your Left). |
