Biking

The fun doesn't end at Sunday River Ski Resort when the snow melts--it just switches gears! Sunday River's Adventure Center features the Mountain Bike Park, with more than 60 miles of legendary lift-serviced terrain. Plus, a new skate park, climbing wall and new this year, mountainboarding! It's all yours for just $99 when you get a season pass before the Fourth of July!

At the end of Chandler Hill Road where the Moose Lodge is located, we have found miles and miles of logging trails, great for mountain biking or four wheeling.

Tour miles of rural back roads and try mountain biking on some of the region's National Forest roads.

Bike and mountain bike rentals as well as helmets are available at the Sunday River Mountain Bike Park and at the Bethel Inn & Country Club at 207-824-2175, and at Bethel Outdoor Adventure at 800-533-3607.

 Hiking

Click here for pictures of our hiking adventures!

The Moose Lodge is less than 25 minutes from Grafton Notch State Park and the Appalachian Trail.  Dozens of mountains and hills for beginner, intermediate and advanced hikers including Table Rock, Old Speck Mountain, and Mount Will.

Mt. Will Trail - from Rt 2 East of Bethel,  it ascends to open ledges with views of the Androscoggin Valley and across the river to Farwell Mt. in East Bethel.  Sunday River and Bear River Valley are also visible from this short hike.

Table Rock Overlook - originates at parking area in Grafton Notch State Park, Rt 26 North of Bethel.  A 1.5 mile trail provides you with a spectacular panorama of Old Speck Mountain and north and south vistas of the State Park.

Eye Brow Loop & Cascade Falls - possibly the most spectacular waterfall side picnic spot.  It is recommended to take a backpack lunch as it is a moderately demanding climb and you can continue to Old Speck Mtn and to Speck Pond.
